Services 206B

The FlyHelos Simulator Training Center  offers an number of helicopter and fixed wing  flight simulators of various degrees of fidelity (realism) for use by private, professional/commercial pilots looking for cost saving alternatives to paying the high hourly rates associated with training in a actual aircraft.

Experienced pilots may opt to use more advanced simulators, such as the  Full Motion or Level Six FTD  Simulators  the Elite SR623 ASTAR Non Motion EC 350,  Bell206B Jet Ranger  or King Air 1900 AATD for IFR,  recurrancy  or transition to multi engine and turbine aircraft prior to taking an FAA check ride.

When you are ready to move into the real aircraft FlyHelos has a number of FAA Part 141 Flight School partners who we work with to provide a wide range of  piston and turbine helicopters, single and multi engine aircraft  to build your  FAA required in cockpit training hours .

Up to 20 hours of loggable instrument training for the private instrument rating,  and 50 hours toward the commercial ratings can be done in our FAA certified AATD simulators. This saves you, the student, a significant amount of money in the overall cost of your  flight training. In addition to providing entry through advanced level flight training services, we have recently included the ability to offer Interactive Realtime Virtual Collaboration training to law enforcement, fire rescue, EMT and others requiring the ability to collaborate with airborne and ground based units in a virtual training environment.

This type   of interactive training enables multiple participants including:  Airborne Helicopter Flight Crews,(flying in our simulators), Police, Fire and EMT Vehicle Drivers operating an actual vehicles hooked up with special computer interfaces located in our training hanger and  connected to our virtual training system. Also, other remote participants located anywhere in the world connected via an internet can use laptop computers  to connect to to the virtual training exercise. This is an excellent venue for administration of training for EMT, Fire, Police Ground and Aviation Units to interact under a common command and control operation with Ground personnel such as SWAT Teams to perfect communication and rules of engagement   under standardized set of operations procedures   in any type of simulated security or disaster scenario.

Our Simulator Center is located in Florida at the Sanford Int'l Airport  where  we have a large flat practice area  for training aircrews. The practice area includes access to slopped terrain and a small lake for practicing  pinnacle landings on angled terrain, sling load handling and bambi bucket training.

Non Motion Bell 206B (BRAVO) Jet Ranger Helicopter art Task Trainer   - FasTrac-Bravo

VFR/IFR part task trainer (PTT). Our Open Seat Part Task Trainer is used to master the operation of helicopter AVIONICS, NAV/COM and FLIGHT CONTROLS during various conditions of simulated flight. This flight trainer is ideal for learning all of the basic fundamentals and operation of the helicopter from startup to preflight to hover to climb out, aircraft trim up, cruising, approach and landing. These skills require much more co-ordination in the helicopter then they do in a fixed wing aircraft. The PTT is used to by the student practice various tasks and procedures taught in a ground school by putting the lesson to pracital use in the simulator. This approach (using the PTT) saves the student several thousands of dollars as opposed to flying in the real aircraft.

Non Motion EC 350 Helicopter Flight Training Device - 005sml

VFR/IFR flight training device (FTD) The new ELITE evolution S623 helicopter training device has been built   to the specific requirements enabling the simulation of a single turbine helicopter based on the Eurocopter AS350B “Squirrel”. The Synthetic Training Device features a three-channel external visual system and a fully enclosed helicopter cockpit with dual pilot instrument screen and cyclic layout. The STD has been built to meet Australian CASA category B FSD2 synthetic trainer requirements. The cockpit area included in the simulator are from the rudder pedals to the aft of the crewmember seats. An Instructor Operator Station (IOS) is attached to the rear of the flight deck. The flight deck is enclosed within a cockpit enclosure and the front windows are fabricated from clear material for an unobstructed view to the optional visual scene. The cockpit   interior of the flight deck is designed according to the helicopter specified above.

Non-helicopter hardware, such as switches and knobs are located in the correct location and provide the same general action. They are in a similar appearance to those in the Helicopter.

Full Motion RealSims Bell206B Jet Ranger Helicopter Flight Simulator - DSCF0264-sm
VFR/IFR The RealSims Bell 206B Jet Ranger Simulator is a HIGH QUALITY, HIGH FIDELITY full motion simulator. This simulator   features a   hydraulic six degrees of freedom motion platform to provide the most realistic flight experience available short of flying the real aircraft. The motion platform provides superior performance enabling the simulator to Pitch and Roll up to 45 degrees at velocities of up to 650 degrees per second (the highest performance standards in the industry),   In addition the platform offers   Sway (slide L/R up to 30") and Heave (Up Down) up to 40") which is invaluable in simulating real helicopter performance. The simulator provides a wide 130 degree Horizontal and 90 degree vertical field of view. A chin bubble view enables the pilot to determine closure rates on descents and hover. This simulator is ideal for current private and commercial pilots and students who have proven flying proficiency in the other non motion simulators. Simulation of various weather conditions, emergency procedures (such as blade stalls, rotor failures, auto-rotate)   and confined space flying in various wind conditions or sea states.

LARGE HELICOPTER FLIGHT AREA

When the student has completed the simulator portion of training and has achieved the proficiency level required to transition into the actual helicopter your flight instructor will introduce you to your next mission.....Time Building and Flying the Real Aircraft !

Through various strategic relationship with FAA Part 141 flight schools, FlyHelos offers a number of rental aircraft used for the in cockpit and  time building required of the FAA to receive your certification. These aircraft range from piston engine helicopters such as the Robinson R22, R44, Schweitzer 300 and Heller which are primarily used for private rotor wing certification and time building, to turbine engine helicopters such as the Bell47, Bell407 and Bell 206B used for transition to turbine, and advanced commercial turbine certifications and/or IFR flight training. Our fixed wing aircraft fleet includes: Cessna 182, 172's Piper Warrior's and Complex aircraft such as the Piper Arrow, Seneca and King Air multi engine aircraft. Many are IFR equipped and certified aircraft

We have a large 60 acre flight training practice area for honing your flight skills. Central Florida's climate provides us with 320 flying days per year so flying here means you get more loft time and probably won't her sopped in and grounded for bad weather.

Our Simulator Training Center is located in a state of the art complex an the Deland Airport 1210 Flightline Blvd, Deland, FL 32724.  TrainingLake02-Small

Advanced students and existing commercial pilots interested in honing skills for pontoon water landings and take off, and sling load training will benefit from the  lake which is on property.  Forestry service pilots and  aviation firefighters can practice scooping and deploying  water buckets. Sling loads are a little tricky to master but under the guidance of your sling rated instructors you can master the skills of  picking up and moving heavy loads with precision.
